FAQs

Your computer requires regular maintenance. In between professional cleanings, you can clean your own computer by using a vacuum or a can of compressed air to remove dirt from within the side panel. However, laptops typically cannot be cleaned at home because they require professional disassembly and deep cleaning (especially if you have pets that create additional dander or dirt). In these cases, it’s best to have your computer cleaned by a trusted professional.

Mikayla Hartgers, Accounting Administration

Little Mikayla would be surprised that she didn’t become a teacher or a nurse but works as an Administrator Assistant for one of the outstanding IT providers in Des Moines. She’s one of our most quiet team members but solves every situation that comes her way with the sweetest attitude. Outdoor activities are her favorites, from the extreme ones like hiking to walking her dogs; she just loves being in touch with nature.

James Helvey, IT Project Administrator

He’s the second member of our James’ Club. As our Project Administrator, he’s responsible for making our IT project’s functions run smoothly. Growing up, he wanted to be a professional athlete and now puts his concentration, coordination, attention to detail, and decision-making skills into every plan at our company. James is also the best ice hockey partner you can ever dream of.

Darla Seymour, Asset Recovery Technician, Logistics Specialist

She’s of our most creative assets of the company. Darla works quietly, but her mind never shuts down. Our multifaceted Asset Recovery Technician and Logistic Specialist, who used to work as a graphic designer and loves painting and singing in her spare time. As a child, she wanted to be a mortician, but now she prepares the remains of your old electronics for recycling and disposal.

Mike Hurt, Director of Operations

When Mike was a kid, he wanted to grow up to be an astronaut. Although he enjoys the challenges he meets working at Dymin, he warns that if human relocation to Mars becomes a reality, he’ll be the first to sign up! In the meantime, we and our customers get the benefit of his stellar problem-solving skills. On the weekends, Mike enjoys spending hours creating delicious food in his kitchen or playing retro video games on his 1985 Nintendo.

Joseph Breitman, Business Process Analyst

After achieving his 2nd degree black belt and fulfilling his lifelong dream of being a Karate Instructor, Joseph arrived at Dymin to pursue his other major passion for learning about technology. Having always enjoyed working with his hands, Joe breaks bricks and fixes computers. At work and at home, Joe believes in responsibility, integrity, and hard work, best exemplified by his favorite hero, Spider-Man, and he always keeps in mind Helmut Schmidt’s quote: “The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement.”

Travis Baker, IT Network Specialist

Travis began learning from his dad about technology at a young age, which led to a passion for IT. After going to college for IT and working a few different jobs, Travis landed at Dymin, where he enjoys the daily challenges his work brings. Travis, who earned the nickname TripleT (aka Tree Trimmin’ Travis) after frequently hitting tree branches during disc golf, brightens up the Dymin office with his fidget spinners. When he’s not working, Travis can be found camping, cooking, gaming, collecting vinyl records, and hanging out with his friends.

Crash, Office Mascot

Crash is our most popular team member and, undoubtedly, the gentlest canine in the history of the known world. He has been with Dymin since April 2013 and gets along exceptionally well with each team member, most especially those who happen to have any type of food in their possession whenever he’s in the office.

Crash prefers sitting in people’s laps, basking in the warm sunshine, and riding shotgun in the car whenever possible. His favorite hobbies include sleeping and receiving hind leg rubs, preferably at the same time.

Brett Adams, Senior IT Support Specialist

When Brett was a kid, he dreamed of becoming a marine biologist or veterinarian, but like most of us, he changed his mind a few times. Brett worked in warehousing and logistics for a while then realized it wasn’t for him, so he started working towards a degree in electrical engineering. After a year (and WAY too much math) he switched his degree to IT. Now, he gets to help people fix things for a living and imagines that customers view him as a sort of superhero, rescuing them from imminent digital ruin. When he’s not saving the day, he enjoys snorkeling and playing sports and video games.

Shane Jones, IT Support Specialist

Shane Jones has loved working with computers since he was a kid. While his first choice had been to grow up to become the Green Power Ranger, as an adult, he appreciates the challenge and variety that he gets from working as a bench technician at Dymin. His dedicated work ethic and lighthearted attitude bring a welcome balance of focus and fun to the workplace. In his free time, Shane enjoys playing video games, watching Sunday football, or getting outdoors for a game of tennis or disc golf.

Jessica Jenkins, Account Manager

Jessica, or “Mom Jenkins” to many, serves as the Support Manager at Dymin. Her favorite aspect of her job is “mothering” the Dymin employees to ensure they’re all happy and healthy. With two kids of her own, Jes uses her free time to explore new places to fish and kayak. When the weather gets too cold to be outside, she’s most likely working on a puzzle or knitting the world’s largest scarf.

Taylor Young, Business Development

Taylor always wanted to be a cake decorator growing up, but she has since discovered a passion for IT. After working at a restaurant as a full-time bartender and manager, Taylor entered the IT world because of the many outlets it offers. She loves learning new things and gaining more knowledge and thinks her coworkers at Dymin appreciate how friendly she is when she gives them multiple tickets. When Taylor isn’t working, she can be found tending to her vegetables and flowers or playing fetch with her two husky labs, Bailey and Scout.

Rob Cooper, Senior IT Support Specialist

As a kid, Robert—better known as Rob around the shop—dreamed of becoming a pilot, but switched to a job in IT after finding out he didn’t have 20/20 vision. But his career at Dymin still gives him the freedom to try new things and overcome professional challenges every day. When he’s not at work using unusual English phrases to confuse his coworkers, he likes spending time with his wife, playing video games, and occasionally swimming with sharks!

Zachary Barber, Security IT Support Specialist

Zachary has a deep love for the movie Top Gun, which is what led to his initial dream of being a Navy SEAL or fighter pilot. Before arriving at Dymin, Zachary built his technology background as a satellite and cable technician, Sprint service rep selling and repairing phones, and by working on an IT help desk for a financial institution. When Zachary isn’t working at Dymin, he enjoys hiking and traveling with his girlfriend and dogs, Tiya and Bailey. You can also find Zachary shooting guns at the range, riding motorcycles, playing guitar, or reading in his spare time.

Douglas Todd, Systems Engineer

Although DT dreamed of being a musician as a kid, he always had a knack for math and logic. This served him well when his older brother, Jason, started teaching him DOS; he enjoyed using this powerful new knowledge to get games to run on his old PC. Lacking enthusiasm for attending a four-year college, DT headed out to Los Angeles and found his way into the video game industry, beginning as a tester for Activision Blizzard and working himself up to project leader. After five years of what he describes as “an extremely fun but difficult job,” he returned to the Midwest to get his associate’s degree at DMACC. After graduating, he heard about the opportunity to work at Dymin and has been here ever since. He says he loves the challenge of continuously solving new problems.

Nelson Le, IT Support Specialist

Nel is a fundamental part of our IT Support team. As a kid, he wanted to be a game developer, and now he puts his abilities, a strong analytical frame of mind, and passion into providing our clients with top-notch assistance. If he’s not troubleshooting your problems on your computer, he’s probably reading, studying, watching YouTube videos, or sleeping like Snorlax, the fictional character he identifies most with.

William Stasak, CFO, Vice President

William Stasak joined Scott at Dymin shortly after the opening of the company’s retail store in 2001. Before then, he had worked in the entertainment industry as president of Canyon Records in the late 80s and early 90s and also with Propper Entertainment, where he produced films, promoted shows, and managed well-known actors and comedians including Jon Lovitz and Carrot Top. His favorite part his current position is the people he gets to work with every day, and he’s appreciated for his dedication to helping the team in any way he can. In his free time, Bill enjoys fishing and going to the shooting range.

SCOTT BREITMAN, CEO

Scott Breitman is a truly self-made computer expert. Beginning with a passion for video games in the days when you needed a certain level of know-how to get the more advanced games to work on your computer, Scott became the neighborhood expert who his less tech-savvy friends to enjoy the wonder of 1990s computer gaming. Initially, he intended to create a business to provide computer building and repair specifically for gamers. It quickly became evident to him that gamers were not inclined to pay for his services, but businesses were. Scott started Dymin out of his basement with a friend in May 2001 and opened the retail store the same year.

Scott loves finding solutions that benefit for all involved. He says, “Winning is far more important than being right. Being right has no value to anyone but you, but creating a situation where everyone wins is valuable to all.” When he’s not working, you might find Scott singing in his cover band or enjoying the great outdoors.

Ryan Heath, Senior IT Project Administrator

Ryan has always loved computers, even though his educational path wandered from pre-med to culinary, before he finally settled into IT. Learning something new every day is his favorite part of the job, and his team members appreciate how he doesn’t let the pressure get to him. When Ryan isn’t working, he’s often whipping up a new creation in the kitchen or participating in tabletop games.

Matt Helland, Logistics Manager

Matt loves helping all of Dymin’s customers. He grew up in a family on the cutting edge of the industry, with a mother who has been involved in computing since the 70s. He’s a little obsessed with the game Marble Madness (which has earned him the nickname “Marble Madness”), and he lives by the words of Spinal Tap’s Viv Savage: “Have a good time, all the time.” When he’s not at work, Matt likes to watch movies, play video games, and hang out with his cats, Kevin Lopan and Curty Bacon.

Gerald Noto, Asset Recovery Technician, Warehouse Manager

Although Gerald’s childhood dream of becoming a professional rock star didn’t quite materialize, he does enjoy playing music for his girlfriend, Darla, and his two cats, Dio and Nova, while he’s not at work. Gerald says that he’s worked a lot of jobs that he’s hated, so coming to Dymin was a welcome change. He loves working with the people here, and the team appreciates his “wicked sick asset recovery skillz.”
